Hope for Africa Children's Choir Sings in Kentucky Again
Written: 8/24/2009 The Hope for Africa Children’s Choir returns to Kentucky August 30-September 18. The group performed at the 2008 Kentucky Annual Conference as well as last year’s General Conference in Texas. Many of the children in the 22-member choir are orphans as a result of war and disease in their homeland. The choir is part of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Ministry of the East Africa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The East Africa Conference includes five nations: Uganda, Sudan, Kenya, Rwanda, and Burundi. The Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Ministry seeks to address challenges faced by the parentless children in the conference. If you attend one of the concerts, you will experience joyful singing, energetic dancing, and bright smiles on the faces of the choir and the audience.
