Annual Conference 2008 Information

2008 KENTUCKY ANNUAL CONFERENCE INFORMATION

CONFERENCE LOCATION AND DATES:
  The plenary sessions and worship services of the conference will be held in the Galt House Hotel and Suites in Louisville.  Worship and plenary sessions will be held in the Grand Ballroom.  Please note that Louisville is in the eastern time zone and all times listed reflect this. A map of the area will be included in the next Annual Conference packet, which is scheduled to leave our office the 4th week of April.

PARKING: Parking is available in an attached, covered garage for a charge.  There will be a location map in your next packet. 

FOOD AND LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: There are several restaurants close to the Conference site.  For your convenience, maps and locations for nearby restaurants and local attractions will be available at the Information/Message Center near the registration area.

FOLDER:  The folder enclosed with the first Annual Conference mailing is a good place to file your pre-conference reports and all other mailings related to conference. The handy pocket can be placed in the back of your folder and used to hold other items that need to be brought with you. As you add material during the session, you should have a complete record of conference to take home with you.

REGISTRATION:
  Registration will be located on the second floor of the east tower.  Registration will be alphabetical by lay and clergy members.  Registration information will be presented to you at conference.  You will confirm the accurate information with the KAC information and/or correct it and sign off on the data sheet.  Once you complete this process you may pick up your name badge and packet.  Registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.  It will continue to be open before sessions and during meal breaks.

In addition, someone will be available to accommodate the following persons:
1. Those who may need to check in or out of the conference
2. Those who are alternates and will need to register in place of the original delegate. You will need to make sure you are on the alternate list as well as have a name badge made.

LAY MEMBERS:
  If you are unable to attend, please give materials to your alternate and immediately notify Beth Dixon at the Conference Office (
bdixon@kyumc.org or 1-800-530-7236, ext 310).  You are also invited to send Beth your email address to receive any updated announcements. 

HOTEL ROOMS: Please make your room reservations with the Galt House by calling 1-800-THE-GALT or 502-589-5200.
Traditional Rooms:
$97 (single and double rate)
$107 (triple and quad rate)
Executive Suites:
$125 (single and double rate)
$135 (triple and quad rate)

Be sure to ask the reservation attendant for the Kentucky Methodist Conference block of rooms.  The above room rate is available through May 5th until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, although it is recommended that you make your reservations as soon as possible.
