Annual Conference 2008 Legislative Committees View Legislative Committee assignments by clicking here (Word document).
According to its Standing Rules, the Kentucky Conference utilizes Legislative Committees to expedite the business of the Conference. The Legislative Committees will meet from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. (ET) on Monday, June 2. Each committee will consider a group of assigned reports. Within the reports you will find the ministry of our conference. Your input and participation in the Legislative Committee are important. The work of the Legislative Committee provides recommendations to the larger conference body.
Our experience indicates that the legislative committees allow us to shorten the length of Annual Conference and that individual reports are given more attention in the Legislative Committee. Additionally, many more persons actively participate in the legislative process through the committee system than in the full body.
This year you are invited to share your preference for the committee on which you will serve. (Presenters will be automatically assigned to the appropriate committee.) We will make every effort to honor your preferences; however, we cannot guarantee them as the committees need to be of similar size. Please register your preferences by completing the online survey no later than March 31. Click here to indicate your preference for a Legislative Committee. The survey has been closed. Committee assignments have been made.
You can also fill out and mail in the form you received in the first Annual Conference packet. Mailed requests must be postmarked by March 31st. MAIL TO: Sue Deibel, Kentucky Conference, 7400 Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014. Committee assignments have already been made.
