Clergy Day Apart On September 22 and 23, Bishop Lindsey Davis met with over 400 clergy members of the Kentucky Annual Conference for Clergy Day Apart. The Tuesday session was held at First UMC in Central City, and the Wednesday session was held at Centenary UMC in Lexington. Both days opened with worship, with Rev. Dr. Thomas Smith delivering the sermon. After worship, Bishop Davis had informative material about the state of our Conference to share with the clergy assembled. Bishop Davis gave some insights into how trends within the conference are affecting membership and giving in the conference. Bishop Davis pointed out that the "spirit of entitlement" is the antithesis of the servant leader model that we are called to follow. He also introduced the concept of Relationship Evangelism, stating that pastors are not called to manage instituions, but are called to foster relationships.
